Plastic Nameplates Outpace Their Metal Counterparts

Plastic Nameplates Outpace Their Metal Counterparts

According to their maker, NFi plastic nameplates are more chemical and abrasion-resistant than metal versions while offering significantly more design options. They feature subsurface printing between the plastic substrate and the equipment’s surface, which protects the image and data from rub-away caused by abrasion and weather. Additionally, the plastic parts support full-color and metallic inks, photographs, sealed windows with serial numbers, date codes, and other details. Made from Mylar (polyester) or Lexan (polycarbonate) and various adhesive combinations, NFi plastic nameplates are available in brushed, glossy, matte, and textured finishes in 0.005-in. to 0.03-in. thickness, and with-or-without mounting holes.
