Motion-Detection Software Readies For IoT Devices

Cognitive Systems is licensing its Aura Wi-Fi Motion software to companies developing products for the smart home such as mesh routers, voice assistants and IoT devices. The software provides advanced motion detection, contextual awareness, and insights to empower smart homes. Aura Wi-Fi Motion software will work on any 802.11n compatible platform, and can be pushed as an over-the-air upgrade. This means there’s no need for additional hardware for new designs or changes required to existing designs. Aura Wi-Fi motion software is now licensed by vendors including Marvell and Qualcomm.

SENSORS EXPO & CONFERENCE

Sensors 2018 Hits Silicon Valley June 26-28!

Join thousands of engineers this June in San Jose at the sensor industry’s biggest event! With 65+ Technical Sessions, 100+ Leading Speakers, and 300+ Interactive Exhibits, there’s more opportunity than ever to connect with this booming industry and the technologies driving it. See thousands of the newest technologies in action, learn about the latest applications, including AI, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT, and Medical, and develop invaluable partnerships at the only event dedicated to sensors, connectivity, and systems.

Aura Wi-Fi Motion harnesses RF, machine learning and artificial intelligence for advanced localization features which classify and localize motion, to provide context and awareness that current connected devices lack. Adding Aura Wi-Fi Motion to devices in the smart home builds a sensor network across the home that can take advantage of multiple inputs including motion, sound, touch and more. For example, if Aura Wi-Fi Motion was embedded into speakers throughout a home, they would be able to turn on or adjust volume of music played as people moved from room to room. Aura Wi-Fi Motion, plus sensor fusion, allows smart home devices to make more intelligent decisions and provides end users with improved controls for a seamless smart home experience.
