The C-600 from Degree Controls, Milford, NH, is a fan controller that controls and modulates fan RPM based on measurements of real-time air velocity. The user programs the desired air velocity set point at the sensor location (derived empirically during prototyping or product analysis) and sensed air velocity is compared to the set point to generate a PWM control input to the fan. The controller communicates with a host system via I2C or UART and can provide air velocity, air temperature, and the PWM signal generated. Other features include a low-flow alarm if the fan cannot generate the desired airflow and a configurable over-temp alarm.
