ISA100 WCI Delivers .11a Test Kits

Research Triangle Park, NC -- The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) announced the availability of its ISA100.11a Stack Conformance and Device Interoperability Test Kits, designed to verify conformance to the ISA100.11a standard. Both kits verify the correct communication behavior of a wireless device as defined in the ISA100.11a standard and provide comprehensive packages and tools for troubleshooting, debugging, and regression testing of ISA100.11a products.

"Designed to help manufacturers develop products that conform to the ISA100.11a standard, the Wireless Test Kits provide manufacturers with a complete set of components to easily verify their products before submission for certification and guarantee conformance with the ISA100.11a technical standard," said Andre Ristaino, Managing Director of the ISA100 WCI. "The test kits used by the WCI-accredited test labs are the same kits available to supplier organizations."

ISA100.11a Stack Conformance Test Kit
The ISA100.11a Stack Conformance Test Kit is a comprehensive package that enables the user to ensure a manufacturer's communication stack conforms to the formal ISA100.11a registration testing and will verify the correct communication behavior of a wireless device as defined in the ISA100.11a standard.

This kit also ensures ISA100.11a communication stack conformance prior to device interoperability testing. Components include a script server and software, test script source code and technical documentation, four diagnostic backbone routers, reference device under test, and an Ethernet router.

ISA100.11a Device Interoperability Test Kit
A subset of the Stack Conformance Test Kit, the ISA100.11a Device Interoperability Test Kit is a comprehensive package that enables users to ensure a manufacturer's device conforms to the formal ISA100.11a registration testing and to verify the correct communication behavior. The kit ensures ISA100.11a device interoperability in native mode, in conjunction with the ISA100.11a Stack Conformance Test Kit.

Components include the script server and software, test script source code and technical documentation, diagnostic backbone router, reference device under test, and Ethernet router.

Both ISA100.11a Wireless Test Kits are available now and will be used by organizations developing products to the ISA100.11a standard. The test kits are typically used in research and development and quality assurance groups of supplier organizations. Both kits are delivered with a one-year warranty and require only a PC with a Web browser.

The ISA100.11a industrial wireless networking standard is the first in the ISA100 family of standards. This wireless mesh network standard protocol helps supplier companies build interoperable wireless automation control products. As a result, manufacturing and processing plants are able to create, modify, optimize, and scale a wireless network quickly, cost-effectively, and seamlessly.

Future ISA100 standards will include support for backhaul functionality, factory automation, and other use-cases. Details on the approved standard, the ISA100 roadmap, and use-case presentations are available on the organization's Web page.
