Industrial VoIP Gateway Phones Home In Harsh Environments

Deemed a first-in-class solution, Patton Electronics’ ruggedized SN4140E Industrial VoIP Gateway series can deliver Voice-over-IP telephony in outdoor or environmentally-exposed environments where heating and cooling cannot be controlled. The unit can also be vehicle-mounted and is suitable for military applications.

Offering flexible combinations of as many as eight analog (POTS) FXS and FXO interfaces, the gateway facilitates IP-based voice delivery for industrial automation, military communications, railways, public transportation, public and private outdoor phones, including emergency phones in parking lots, along roadways, and railways and within underground tunnels. It provides interconnection and conversion between modern IP-based Voice networks using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and traditional analog phones, analog PBX equipment or PSTN lines.

EMBEDDED TECHNOLOGIES EXPO & CONFERENCE

The inaugural event will take place June 25-27 in San Jose, CA!

Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference (ETC), in the largest embedded and IoT market in North America, is the ONLY event focused on what is most important to designers and implementers – education and training. Attendees will experience over 100 hours of unparalleled education and training covering embedded systems, IoT, connectivity, edge computing, AI, machine learning, and more. Co-located with Sensors Expo & Conference, attendees will have the opportunity to see hundreds of leading exhibitors and network with thousands of industry peers and innovators.

Housed in a hardened metal enclosure, the SN4140E device is designed to withstand shock (as per IEC 60068-2-27), vibration (as per IEC 60068-2-6), extreme temperatures (-40° to +70°C), up to 85% humidity (conformal coating option protects up to 100%), condensation, and frost. DIN-rail mounting and shelf mounting are supported. A 12 to 48 Vdc terminal block power input is standard, while an ac/dc adapter with a screw-down plug fastener is also supplied. Protection against power spike and surge is also built in according to MIL STD 1275. For greater details, checkout the SN4140E page.
