Wireless Sensors Enable Hi-Res Monitoring of Bones In Vivo

(Medical Technology Business Europe)—IntelliJoint Systems Ltd. is developing a wireless sensor implant to dynamically monitor-in vivo, in real time-orthopaedic procedures, healing of fractures and fusion, and evaluating the performance of artificial implants of hip, knee and shoulder joints.

The sensors are expected to supply information unobtainable from X-rays; initial laboratory data of confirmed high accuracy and resolution better than 100 microns.
