NEW YORK, NY -- UAV Navigation, a leading vendor of flight control avionics and motion processing solutions, announced the release of its AH01-based LCAP GPS and Air Data System ("ADS")-aided avionics for mini UAV targets, hand-launched helicopters, and other types of high performance UAVs that need to be mass-produced economically.
UAV Navigation's LCAP is a fifth-generation avionics system, and the outcome of more than 8 years of experience in MEMs-based high-performance (Attitude and Heading Reference System) ("AHRS") and advanced flight control technology. It successfully completed its calibration and test phases, and is ready for volume production. The LCAP provides excellent navigation performance in a lightweight, low-power, physical format that can be mass-produced and is even disposable, if needed.
The LCAP excels at high-dynamic flight evolutions. It can also survive any single sensor failure, including GPS outage, and still provide adequate navigation capabilities.
UAV Navigation has internally developed all of LCAP's software, including an excellent helicopter and quadcopter flight control implementation. Functionality and performance have been perfected in partnership with key customers in Israel, Europe and the US. This close relationship with industry heavyweights has been key in obtaining a deeply tested product that can adapt to a wide range or airframes and flight scenarios.

The LCAP is already being shipped to existing customers. For new systems and new customers, UAV Navigation's business model emphasizes turnkey integration and adaptation projects that also include training.
The LCAP follows the Company's usual developer-friendly, ARM-based architecture. The autopilot's sensing heart is the AH01, a MEMs-based, deeply integrated AHRS and INS (Inertial Navigation System) that weighs less than 2 grams and includes 3-axis gyros, with an ARM Cortex-M0 System-On-Chip. The AH01 is also available as a separate product and used by itself as a superb stand-alone AHRS/IMU/INS navigation systemin a wide range of applications.
In addition to the AH01, the LCAP includes a Flight Control CPU that hosts the control software, a high-performance GPS module, ADS and a rich set of interfaces such as Digital and Analog IO's, PWM, UART, CAN and Ethernet. It can also be fitted with additional external sensors such as radar altimeters or magnetometers.
