MEMS Mic Senses All Sound Environments

Vesper’s VM1001 piezoelectric MEMS microphone is the first microphone in the company's portfolio specifically built for array applications and is desirable for voice user interface, beamforming arrays, outdoor devices, industrial sensors, smart home devices and other applications. The VM1001 specifies a sensitivity tolerance of ±1dB and guaranteed phase matching. It also has an acoustic overload point of 127-dB SPL with instantaneous recovery for audio capture in loud environments.

The VM1001, like all Vesper microphones, is natively immune to environmental contaminants such as dust, water, moisture, oil, particulate matter and shock. It is also immune to stiction, which can cause catastrophic system failure. Measuring 3.76 mm x 2.95 mm x 1.3 mm, the component is reflow-solder compatible with no sensitivity degradation. The VM1001 is currently sampling and will be in volume production in Q1 2019. For more information on the VM1001, visit  Vesper and/or email [email protected].
