MEMS Mic Enables High-End Portable Recording

Infineon Technologies AG and Zylia, a Poland-based developer of recording technologies, enable a portable recording studio via the integration of Infineon’s 69-dB SNR digital MEMS microphone into the Zylia ZM-1 microphone array. Providing a unique approach to music recording, the 19-capsule microphone array with 24-bit resolution allows users to record entire sound scenes with just one microphone. Equipped with XENSIV silicon microphones, the microphone array is capable of high-fidelity and far-field audio recording.

The XENSIV silicone microphones from Infineon feature low self-noise, wide dynamic range, low distortion, and a high acoustic overload point. In addition, the Zylia Studio dedicated application for the ZM-1 enables separation of instruments and vocal tracks from the overall recorded sound mixture.

SENSORS EXPO & CONFERENCE

Sensors 2019 Hits Silicon Valley June 25-27!

Join 7,000+ engineers this June in San Jose at the sensor industry’s biggest event! With 65+ Technical Sessions, 100+ Leading Speakers, 10 new and updated tracks, and 300+ Interactive Exhibits, there’s more opportunity than ever to connect with this booming industry and the technologies driving it. See thousands of the newest technologies in action, learn about the latest applications, and develop invaluable partnerships at the only event dedicated to sensors, connectivity, and systems.

As a third-order Ambisonics audio recorder, the ZM-1 is also viable for 360-degree and virtual reality (VR) audio production. Zylia supports these workflows with its Zylia Studio PRO and Zylia Ambisonics Converter software. They offer sound engineers and VR enthusiasts more control over the recording process and greater post-processing capabilities. For more details, visit the Zylia info page and Infineon’s XENSIV silicone microphone page.
