5.1-Mpixel CMOS Image Sensor Eyes High-End Security Camera Applications

The AR0521 debuts as the first CMOS image sensor based on a 2.2-μm back side illuminated (BSI) pixel technology platform. Poised for surveillance applications, the device features an optical format of 7.13mm via a 5-Mpixel digital image sensor with an active pixel array of 2592 (H) x 1944 (V). It captures images in either linear or high dynamic range (HDR) modes with rolling-shutter readout, and includes camera functions such as binning, windowing, and video and single frame modes. Other features include 8-, 10-, or 12-bit outputs. The AR0521 is available in a mPLCC (12 mm x 12 mm) package.
