Study Endorses RFID and Sensors for Shipping Container Security

Public Policy Institute of California argues technologies would boost port security and deliver real commercial benefits. The institute estimates that outfitting containers with advanced RFID and sensors could cost $500 to $1200 per container, or about $15 billion for the entire U.S. container fleet.
