Sensor Enables Landmine Locator Aerial Platform System

System boasts reliable detection, location, and mapping of landmines at very low flying levels.


MILL VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Alliance Enterprise Corp.'s Landmine Locator (LML) Aerial Platform System promises a new, reliable dimension in detecting, locating, and mapping landmines at extremely low flying levels. As part of a Phase II Development Agreement, the LML system will incorporate a customized version of Roke Manor Research Ltd.'s, (a Siemens company) award-winning landmine sensor technology.

The sensors are expected to speed up the process of detecting and mapping the location of landmines compared to any other system in use today.

According to Alliance Enterprise, more than 100 million landmines in 83 countries are holding international communities and industries hostage, preventing the investment in and development of productive lands and the re-building of infrastructure. The company says its cost-effective solution to this problem uses a four-phased approach to evaluating, scanning, mapping, and removing landmines.
