The ēKo Pro Series features simple deployment and real-time monitoring. Nontechnical users can easily set up or add new sensors and nodes and access live data from any remote location.

SAN JOSE, CA /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- Crossbow Technology Inc., a leading supplier of wireless sensor technology and inertial MEMS sensors for navigation and control, announced it has begun customer shipments of the ēKo Pro Series, a breakthrough wireless crop monitoring system.

The ēKo Pro Series represents the next generation in crop-monitoring and precision-agriculture techniques, using a self-powered, self-configuring mesh network of wireless sensors that provide vital live data about crop health, vigor, and growth progress via a simple Internet browser. The ēKo Pro Series is a highly integrated, expandable turnkey system with a built-in Web server, which requires an extremely low initial investment. ēKo's low cost and ease of use allow growers to greatly increase the number of monitoring points deployed compared with existing alternatives, and to significantly improve crop quality and consistency. The ēKo Pro Series system features simple deployment and real-time monitoring to even nontechnical users, who can easily set up or add new sensors and nodes and access live data from any remote location. Additionally, ēKo Pro's flexible architecture supports the integrated use of numerous manufacturers' popular sensors, providing long-term investment protection.

"We are very pleased to announce the immediate availability of the ēKo Pro Series system," said Robert Robinson, Vice President of Wireless Sales and Marketing at Crossbow. "Leading growers can now deploy reliable turnkey wireless crop monitoring solutions at a very low cost and with no monthly or incremental software, integration, customization, maintenance fees."

For growers interested in an initial deployment on a relatively small scale, Crossbow offers the ēKo Pro Series Starter Kit. The starter kit includes three ēKo wireless sensor nodes; six soil moisture sensors; one ambient temperature/humidity sensor; one ēKo gateway, with integrated ēKoView Web application; and one ēKo base radio, with antenna to help growers get started quickly. Additional wireless sensor nodes and sensors can be added as desired in the future and are automatically integrated into the existing system.

Pricing and Availability
The ēKo Pro Series Starter Kit is priced at $3359 and is immediately available for purchase from select distributors and directly online. Introductory pricing is now offered through the end of April. Sales inquiries may be directed to sales@xbow.com.
