Comverge Joins Zigbee Alliance

The clean-energy provider will implement ZigBee technology throughout its portfolio.

EAST HANOVER, NJ /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comverge, Inc. (NASDAQ:COMV) ("Comverge"), a leading provider of clean energy solutions, announced that it has joined the ZigBee Alliance, a global ecosystem of companies creating wireless solutions for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications. As an Adopter Class Member, Comverge will implement ZigBee technology throughout its comprehensive energy solutions portfolio and provide its customers with more capabilities than ever before.

Comverge's ZigBee solution, when integrated into its SuperStat(R) and Digital Control Unit products, is designed to enable two-way communication via Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems supporting ZigBee. By enabling communication between the meter and home energy automation and demand response devices, utility providers can offer energy-saving rate structures such as time-of-use (TOU) and critical peak pricing (CPP).
