LAUREL, NJ (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Automotive Resources International (ARI), a leading global fleet solutions provider specializing in complex car and truck fleet management, has partnered with Netistix Technologies and Networkcar, Inc. to offer a two-pronged telematics approach: a wireless solution for active transmission of data over cellular service, and a system for passive collection of data and transmission of that data from a central site over short range, high speed wireless networks. Both solutions integrate telematics and fleet management data through ARI's web-based ARI insights, an intelligent web-based car and truck fleet management system. This integrated solution will help to reduce fleet operating costs and improve overall company productivity.
ARI has partnered with Netistix to provide a "passive" program: the Netistix FleetPulse system automatically captures and stores a comprehensive set of key operational fleet data, optionally including GPS. The data is then downloaded through a wireless transceiver at central locations, with no usage or time charges applicable—an ideal choice for fleet vehicles that routinely return to a specified lot or shop. Fleets that require real-time data can choose an "active" program provided through Networkcar: cellular-based coverage (provided by Cingular Wireless) merges patented remote diagnostic systems with GPS-based Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology to provide up-to-the-minute status of both vehicle location and engine diagnostics.
With both systems feeding into ARI insights, users can view integrated telematics and fleet management data. The administration tools are user-friendly, and the comprehensive report series can be printed or exported to an Excel spreadsheet.
