(NASDAQ:ESYS) , a developer of machine to machine (M2M) data acquisition, telemetry, and analysis systems for critical industries, announced its technology license from Eurotech, Inc. to provide the Director Series of SCADA communication gateways to the oil, gas, and energy markets. Eurotech is a subsidiary of Eurotech Group S.p.A., a world leader in embedded computer technology, headquartered in Amaro, Italy. This development broadens the Elecsys portfolio of proprietary, rugged remote monitoring and communications equipment offered to the energy sector.
The Director Series, with its associated suite of HCP database software and industry standard communication protocols, gathers data from a wide variety of field devices and measurement instrumentation and efficiently delivers this information to corporate data systems. The Director Series of products are currently used in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems at many major energy companies throughout North America and the world. With a flexible system architecture, these SCADA Communication Gateways are multi-platform products that enable operational field data to be acquired, networked, transformed, and utilized efficiently by taking full advantage of existing TCP/IP technologies and communications networks.
As part of this partnership with Eurotech, Elecsys has a perpetual license to provide the technology, manufacture, and support the Director Series products within the energy sector. The company plans to further develop this product line with new technology and applications for the Director and new HCP related products. In addition to new system implementations, Elecsys will provide technical expertise, engineering support, training, and maintenance services to existing Director Series users. Key technical employees from Eurotech have joined the Elecsys engineering team to provide the foundation for this continuing development and support.
