Bluetooth to the Rescue

Scientists at the University College London are developing a portable brain scanner that could diagnose brain bleeds, clots, and other causes of stroke early on and relay the information via Bluetooth from an ambulance to a medical facility so appropriate treatment could begin immediately upon arrival. The current alternative is to wait for a CT or MRI for a diagnosis, by which time the damage can progress rapidly. (http://
