Konarka and Nu Energy Announce Partnership

The alliance will initiate deployment of Konarka Power Plastic organic photovoltaic technology in the Australian commercial and residential solar market.


Lowell, MA -- Konarka Technologies Inc., an innovator in development and commercialization of Konarka Power Plastic, a material that converts light to energy, announced a commercial alliance with Nu Energy, a partnership that is expected to initiate deployment of its organic photovoltaic technology in the Australian market for both commercial and residential applications. A leader in the renewable solutions industry in Australia, Nu Energy has installed more than 18,000 solar systems throughout Australia in households, large industrial sites, and government applications.

The thin, lightweight, and flexible characteristics of Konarka's Power Plastic makes it particularly conducive to a wide range of uses. Power Plastic captures both indoor and outdoor light and converts it into direct current electrical energy. Manufacturers can easily integrate the material into their products for both commercial and residential uses, creating energy producing products.
