Collaborators Will Enhance MEMS Pressure Sensor Capabilities for Medical Devices

March 13, 2017

Millar, Inc. is partnering with AMFitzgerald to provide OEMs in the medical-device sector with complete sensor solutions using micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. The collaborators see the clinical market experiencing an upward trend of sensor integration into existing medical technologies, the cardiovascular market in particular.

Due to their small size, low power consumption, and low cost, MEMS sensors offer a plethora of unique capabilities to gather in situ data at locations in the body which cannot be otherwise accessed. Pressure, temperature, motion, and flow parameters can now be directly measured.

Circle of partners

AMFitzgerald’s primary business is in design and development of custom MEMS sensors and actuators plus a selection of commercially-available sensors for implementation in medical and other high-performance applications. Leveraging Millar's ISO-13485 quality control certification and 45+ years of MEMS-enabled product manufacturing expertise, AMFitzgerald can provide advanced and proven solutions for sensor testing, wire attach, and biocompatible encapsulation. A mutual goal, the end result will be a faster path to market for companies that work with the AMFitzgerald and Millar teams.
