ML6 sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs Inc., Twinsburg, OH, operate at ranges from 20–120 mm and detect targets while ignoring background objects beyond a precisely defined cut-off range. The 14 by 18 by 33 mm sensors have 4 output configurations that are automatically selected based on the connected load. Features include cross-talk immunity, low sensitivity to color, small visible red light beams, and adjustable sensing ranges or tamperproof fixed ranges.
