SICK Inc., Minneapolis, MN, offers the S300 safety laser scanner suited for providing oncoming fork detection on AGVs, safeguarding workers in the path of manned fork lifts and transfer cars, and as an alternative to safety mats. The sensor features a compact housing, low power consumption, a 270° scanning angle, ability to monitor hazardous areas <2 m, and selectable resolution of 30, 40, 50, and 70 mm. The scanner is Type 3 (IEC 61496-3), SIL2 (IEC 61508).
