Arcontia launches new embedded MIFARE contactless smart card reader for the Nautiz eTicket Pro II PDA

Gothenburg, Sweden – ARCONTIA INTERNATIONAL AB announces its new embedded contactless smart card reader for the Nautiz eTicket Pro II PDA. The Arcontia reader is fully integrated into Handheld’s new Nautiz eTicket Pro II PDA, offering a compact and ergonomic mobile solution for a range of ticketing applications in public transport. The combination of the contactless smart card reader and the PDA provide customers with a lean and rugged mobile device for ticket control, travel information and support workflow processes.

The ISO/IEC 14443 A/B reader is the latest in Arcontia’s growing line of contactless smart card products, designed for e-ticketing and e-payment markets. The reader is fully compatible with the entire MIFARE family, including MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire EV1 and MIFARE UltraLight C, as well as supporting Smart MX and several other smart cards used in cashless ticketing and payment applications. To this, the reader has to 2 high speed SAM slots (Secure Access Module) and the reader software supports the latest MIFARE AV1 and MIFARE AV2 SAMs from NXP.

Their joint mobile solutions have been deployed in numerous Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems worldwide, including Helsinki Public Transportation in Finland, RET (Rotterdam) in the Netherlands, Prague Public Transportation in the Czech Republic, HTM (Hague) in the Netherlands, Melbourne Public Transportation in Australia, Swedish Railways (SJ) in Sweden and Dutch Railways (NS) in the Netherlands.
