Multichannel Sensor Interface IC from Sensor Platforms

The SSP1493 from Sensor Platforms Inc., San Jose, CA, is a sensor signal conditioning and interface IC designed for high-performance, high-volume sensor applications such as sensor-enabled consumer electronics, smart toys, and next-generation cell phones. The device uses a counter-based resonant sensor measurement technique to provide flexibility and performance. It has 10 user-configurable I/O channels that can directly drive most types of sensor elements. Each I/O channel can be individually configured as an analog input, analog output, digital input, or digital output. User commands and sensor data are input and output via a 2-wire bidirectional I2C serial bus.
