Kurt Mfg. Co., Electronics Div., Minneapolis, MN, offers the KurtUSB MLX (multifunctional LVDT extra) modular building block to process input from various electrical signals and to provide programmable responses for automatic operation. The module has, at its core, a CPU to process electrical signals, allowing the MLX to be configured to work with LVDT probes, air-to-electric transducers, temperature sensors, eddy current sensors, and other devices. Other features include an internal PLC, USB 2.0 communications, 4 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs, 8 discrete inputs, 8 discrete outputs, a quadrature encoder input, and a stepper motor driver.
