ML4.2 photoelectric sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs Inc., Twinsburg, OH, provide background suppression sensing capabilities, detecting targets at ranges up to 80 mm while ignoring background objects millimeters away. Color insensitivity is <10%. Other features include a glass lens and anti-static housing, tamperproof fixed sensing ranges, cross-talk immunity, 4 automatically selected output configurations from a single sensor, and a compact 14 by 18 by 33 mm housing.
