Sensors to Focus on Web-Based Initiatives
Publication's Online Position Reflects Market Demand

NEWTON, Mass., December 7, 2006 – Sensors, the premier publication dedicated to sensors and sensor-related technologies, will continue to build and expand its web-based editorial platform in the coming year and will cease publication of its print magazine in response to the sensor community’s demand for faster access to timely business, technical and purchasing information online.

As Sensors concludes the print version with the December issue, the publication will further map its new online strategies to the needs of industry professionals by building on to its current digital platforms:
Sensors Online (www.sensorsmag.com), featuring 7 business- and application-specific sites, including:

  • Electronics & Computers
  • Machine Manufacturing
  • Process Industries
  • Automotive
  • Aerospace/Military/Homeland Security
  • Specialty Markets
  • Wireless & M2M
  • A suite of special-interest e-newsletters including:
    • Sensors Daily
    • Industrial Automation
    • Wireless & M2M
    • Product Picks

Sensors’ decision to place a high priority on online initiatives will enable the media brand to provide faster access to daily news, enhance information services, and expand its reach to professionals via the web and e-newsletters beyond the existing audience of 66,000 print subscribers.

“To meet the information needs of the sensor market, it only makes sense to provide the industry’s decision-makers information that is more in line with how they work on a daily basis,” said Dana Fisher, Publisher of Sensors. “Our recent readership study supports our strategy and confirms that buyers are seeking information about their purchasing decisions online.”

Not only has Sensors served the needs of specific audiences, the media brand will continue to reshape the way marketers advertise on Sensors Online.   Future opportunities in business- and application-specific e-newsletters and other digital media will help advertisers further identify the core sensor decision-makers in their industries and maximize lead-generation opportunities by presenting their brand, product, and services directly to their key customers.
