UCI Research Grant Advances Microfluidics

With a $7.2 million grant from government and private-sector sources, scientists at the University of California, Irvine, (UCI) are developing practical applications for the cutting-edge technology. According to this Seattle Times article, one university researcher is developing pressure sensors for the fingertips of prosthetic hands that provide a sensation of touch similar to that of the body's nervous system.
