Onset Announces Ethernet-Based Energy Monitoring SystemNovember 3, 2008
The HOBO U30/ETH allows energy managers and facility managers to easily implement facility-wide, networked monitoring solutions for tracking energy usage, HVAC system performance, and green building efficiency.
BOURNE, MA /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- Onset Computer Corp., the HOBO data logger company, unveiled the HOBO U30/ETH Remote Monitoring System, an industrial-grade energy monitoring system that provides real-time, remote access to energy and environmental data over any Ethernet network.
As the latest addition to Onset's line of HOBO U30 remote monitoring systems, the HOBO U30/ETH allows energy managers, facility managers, and others to easily implement facility-wide, networked monitoring solutions for tracking energy usage, HVAC/R system performance, and green building efficiency. Users can simply plug in their choice of sensors, connect an Ethernet cable, and remotely access and manage HOBO U30 systems distributed throughout their facility. This, in turn, enables users to optimize data collection efficiency while generating long-term, facility-wide energy profiles at lower costs.
Key system features include:
- Powerful alarm capabilities. The HOBO U30/ETH enables users to set up alarm conditions for any connected sensors and receive automatic notification via email or cell phone text messages when monitored conditions exceed user-defined limits.
- Industrial-grade dependability. The system features a NEMA 6-rated, double weatherproof enclosure for years of dependable operation in harsh environmental conditions. This is an advantage, for example, in applications where rooftop HVAC or other outdoor systems needs to be monitored.
- Full suite of sensors. Users have access to a wide selection of sensors for measuring a range of parameters, including temperature, relative humidity, kW, kWh, AC voltage, AC amps, DC amps, gauge and differential pressure, CO2, and more.
To view and analyze data, Onset offers HOBOlink, a revolutionary new Web-enabled software platform. HOBOlink allows users to access current and historical data, set alarm notifications and relay activations, and manage and control HOBO U30/ETH systems right from their desktop.
Pricing and Availability
The HOBO U30/ETH will be available from Onset in November 2008 and is priced at $675.00. Sensors, data plans, and accessories are priced separately.
Onset Computer Corp. has been producing small, inexpensive, battery-powered HOBO data loggers since 1981, and has sold over 1 million loggers that are used throughout the world by over 50,000 customers. The company manufactures a broad range of data logger and weather station products that are used to measure temperature, humidity, light intensity, voltage, and a broad range of other parameters. Onset data loggers are used in a wide range of research, commercial, industrial, and renewable-energy applications.
