LumaSense Acquires Gas-Analysis Leader AndrosMay 8, 2007
The move strengthens LumaSense's presence in the medical and clean-technology sectors.
SANTA CLARA, CA /MARKET WIRE/ -- LumaSense Technologies Inc., a leading provider of sensing solutions, announced the completion of its acquisition of New A.C. Inc. dba Andros Inc., ("Andros"), a privately held company based in Richmond, CA, focused on gas analysis for the medical and clean technology sectors.
"Andros is an excellent complement to our existing portfolio, as we continue to strengthen our business and add value to the marketplace with innovative sensor instrumentation, technology, and products," said Vivek Joshi, CEO of LumaSense Technologies. "They have been a pioneer in setting the standards of care for anesthesia gas monitoring, and their innovative platform for the clean-technology sector provides the industry with cost-effective quality solutions that result in a cleaner, healthier environment."
Andros' solutions are used across many different applications and sectors, including the hospital operating room, where real-time monitoring of gases inspired and expired by the anesthetized patient is vital to ensuring patient safety; during emissions monitoring, where vehicle and other exhaust emissions have been a major contributor to the world's air pollution problems; and across the food storage industry, which faces the constant threat of spoilage due to undetected loss of refrigerant gas. Andros' gas analysis solutions enable the industry to address these challenges with proven technology, products, and support.
