IR Sensor Conserves Power Consumption in Street Lighting

The UK-based site electronicsweekly.com reports that SETsquared, the high-tech innovation project run by the universities of Bath, Surrey and Bristol, has launched a new start-up company, Cplx, to develop an infrared sensor-based chip for managing street lighting.


"There are seven million street-lights in the UK and estimates are that we can reduce power consumption by 50 per cent," the company says.
