Holly to Use Predictive Analytics on Navajo Refinery Equipment

August 10, 2006

The deployment of SmartSignal's EPI*Center software will increase the facility's uptime and reduce its operating costs.

Chicago -- SmartSignal Corp. announced that Holly Corp. will deploy SmartSignal's EPI*Center predictive analytics solution at its Navajo Refinery. The software will be deployed on Navajo's crude unit, CCR unit, fluidized catalytic cracker unit, hydro treating unit, and ROSE unit.

SmartSignal's EPI*Center continually inspects key aspects of process and equipment health to provide early warning of impending problems, enabling increased uptime and reduced operating costs. Unlike condition-monitoring devices, EPI*Center provides constant, 24/7, predictive, data-centric analysis of the health of all monitored equipment and processes. In this way, EPI* Center identifies impending problems, transcends data overload, and predicts abnormal process and equipment performance days, weeks, and even months earlier than possible with traditional monitoring methods.

"We're proud to add Holly Corporation to our distinguished list of performance leaders in the energy industry. We're confident that EPI* Center will help bolster Holly Corporation's industry-leading position," said Jim Gagnard, president and CEO of SmartSignal.
