ARCwire -- Endress+Hauser recently added two new models to its Promass line of Coriolis flowmeters. The LPGmass flowmeter is designed for dispensing and truck-loading applications in the growing liquid natural gas industry (LNG), and the Promass P meter meets the stringent requirements for mass flow and density measurements in the life sciences industries.
The LNGmass solves the problem of accurate measurement of liquid gas volumes on trucks and dispensers by compensating for changes in external temperatures. The meter uses integrated temperature measurement and intelligent conversion functions to automatically determine the correct gas volume being loaded or transferred. Because it is designed for operation on trucks, the LNGmass is highly resistant to vibration. The meter offers measurement accuracy of ±0.3% of reading for volume flow and ±0.2% of reading for mass flow, and supports flow rates up to 1654 lb/min.
The Promass P is a straight tube-meter design that offers the accuracy of a bent-tube design, and it supports the drainability requirement of hygienic clean-in-place operations. The Promass P complies with several requirements, codes, and standards specific to the life sciences industries, including ASME BPE, ISPE, FDA, EHEDG, and 3-A. The meter can withstand the frequent temperature extremes associated with clean-in-place and sterilization procedures, and can measure instantly after a clean-in-place cycle without requiring a cool-down period. The Promass P offers measurement accuracy ±of 0.1% of reading and repeatability of ±0.05% of reading.
