Organized and hosted by MEMS Industry Group (MIG), the trade association focused on growing the global MEMS market, this one-day pre-conference symposium will discuss how sensor fusion—the intelligent combination of data from several sensors for the purpose of improving application or system performance—has the MEMS industry abuzz with promise. With potentially attractive benefits that include the ability to meet or exceed power, performance, and cost requirements in heterogeneous embedded systems—including mobile handsets and tablets—sensor fusion is moving rapidly into the commercialization phase.

MEMS technology has dominated the automotive industry for decades, and is the ‘special sauce’ that helped lead to the success of both Nintendo Wii and Apple iPhone. More recently, advanced incarnations of these traditional stalwarts, coupled with the arrival of combo sensors, sensor fusion techniques and “emerging MEMS” devices, have the industry primed to grow from an estimated $10B in 2012, to $20B by 2017 (according to Yole Development).

Just as each company in the MEMS industry has its own secret sauce, each company approaches sensor fusion in its own distinctive way. In this must-attend pre-conference symposium, you will get a rare deep-dive into the MEMS industry’s unique perspective on what sensor fusion is, how it applies to different markets and applications and the challenges and opportunities to success both today and into the future. This symposium will illuminate the numerous opportunities available through the promise of sensor fusion and integration, come learn where to stake your claim.
