Dr. Steve Liang is an Assistant Professor in Geographical Information Systems at Department of Geomatics Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. His general research areas are Geospatial Information and Communication Technologies
(GeoICT). His specific research interests lie at the intersection of Geo-Sensor Networks, Peer-to-Peer (p2p) computing, Internet GIS and Social Networks, specifically in the area of the Spatial Sensor Web (SSW), which is a spatial information infrastructure for heterogeneous sensor networks. He is actively involved in the establishment and development of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and OGC prototype systems.
