Bob Frankel has been involved in embedded system software for over 30 years. Noted for his contribution to DSP operating systems, he co-founded Spectron Microsystems in 1987, whose SPOX and DSP-BIOS products became de-facto industry standards. After Texas Instruments acquired Spectron in 1998, he was elected TI Fellow and served as the company's Chief Software Strategist until retiring in 2009. Today, Frankel is a co-founder and CTO of Emmoco, which develops software to enable OEMs to add mobile control to their products (supported by Anaren AIR modules). Frankel has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
