S@W5: 3D LiDAR Imaging in the Presence of Obscurants in Harsh Environments
June 25, 2014 | 3:30pm - 4:10pm
Technology developed to do 3D LiDAR imaging in obscurants is presented. Results obtained from controlled obscurant environments is compared with model predictions. Real world applications in harsh environments will be presented, including helicopter landing in dust, mobile mapping and heavy mining machinery platforms operating in poor visibility.
Attendees will learn:
- About new technologies developed to penetrate degraded visual environments with LiDARs.
- About practical LiDAR 3D data acquisition from aerial platforms operating in degraded visual environments.
- About practical LiDAR 3D data acquisition from ground platforms operating in degraded visual environments.
