Cloud-Based Sensing and Data Analysis in Action
June 6, 2013 | 11:00am - 11:40am
Cloud-based sensing deployments are becoming increasingly advantageous in a variety of applications, including load monitoring, environmental sensing, and civil structure monitoring. In addition to detailing the benefits of cloud-based sensing in such applications, this session will address cloud-based sensing's associated challenges and will offer solutions for overcoming the barriers to adoption.
This session will:
Present a variety of applications that leverage the power of cloud-based sensing deployments
Explain the current challenges associated with cloud-based sensing, including big data storage, big data analysis, and management of remote sensor network deployments
Offer a compelling solution for cost-effect storage of large data sets (gigabytes and terabytes of data), with fast and easy visualization of those data sets
Demonstrate user-defined analysis solution in which users may quickly develop and deploy data processing apps in Python or Octave alongside their data in the cloud
