2013 Sensors Expo & Conference to Focus on Applications and Solutions; Announces New Partnership with the RTC Group

Newton, MA, January 8, 2013 - Each June thousands of engineers, scientists and industry professionals from around the world gather for the Sensors Expo & Conference, the leading event in North America focused on sensing technologies driving tomorrow's solutions. This year's event, the 26th Annual Sensors Expo & Conference will take place at The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, Wednesday, June 5 - Thursday, June 6 with pre-conference symposia scheduled for Tuesday, June 4.
The Sensors Conference program provides essential, in-depth education and technical sessions across 3 Full-Day Pre-Conference Symposia and an expansive 9 tracks in the Sensors comprehensive conference program. On Tuesday, June 4th, the event will begin with three full day pre-conference symposia. For the first time, ARM Holdings will deliver a workshop providing in-depth analysis into the concepts and trends to create "Sensors as a Service" for B2B and B2C applications.Additional symposia will be presented on MEMS Sensors Fusion, chaired by MEMS Industry Group, and Energy Harvesting, chaired by Randy Frank & Associates. Conference tracks include: Big Data & Analytics, Cutting-Edge Sensing Applications & Innovations, Energy Harvesting, Gas Sensing, MEMS, Novel Approaches to Measurement & Detection, Remote Monitoring, Sensors @ Work, and Wireless Sensing Solutions.
"We have developed a stellar event program for 2013 which focuses on real world applications of sensors and sensing technologies and introduces several new conference tracks and pavilions," said Wendy Loew, Event Director. "We are thrilled to announce many new collaboration partners which are helping us to enhance our education program with expert content as well as expand the Expo floor with leading vendors in specific technology areas. This year's content partners include: ARM, Appliance Design, ECN, Evaluation Engineering, Gases & Instrumentation, MDT: Medical Design & Technology, MEMS Industry Group, Product Design & Development, Randy Frank & Associates, and Wireless Design and Development."
In addition to new and expanded collaboration partnerships, Sensors Expo is also pleased to announce two exciting Expo Floor features for all attendees. Co-located with Sensors Expo, the Intelligent Systems Pavilion - Future of Embedded Computing Connectivity - will be located on the Sensors Expo floor. Sponsored by the RTC Group, the Pavilion showcases leading embedded computing vendors and their techniques.
"As embedded computers develop more intelligence, their relationship to sensor technology becomes increasingly complex and important. Our partnership with Sensors Expo in 2013 allows us to highlight where embedded computing and intelligent systems connect with the real world," said Aaron Foellmi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The RTC Group. "We are excited to join forces with Sensors Expo to provide a rich experience for our traditional embedded audience in this year's Intelligent Systems Pavilion and Conference. With RTC and MEDS magazines as media anchors for the Intelligent Systems Pavilion, we believe this marriage of system and sensor is going to be an energizing partnership."
Building on two successful years at Sensors Expo, the MEMS Pavilion, sponsored by MEMS Industry Group, will be expanding beyond the Pavilion and Innovation Area, to include a MEMS Networking Lounge. This area will provide a space for the entire MEMS supply chain to meet, network, and engage one-on-one with potential customers, while showcasing their products and expertise.
"MEMS Industry Group (MIG) is pleased to be expanding our participation in Sensors Expo to give attendees a deep dive into the entire MEMS supply chain - from equipment vendors, to device manufacturers, to foundries, to end-users, and everyone in between," stated Karen Lightman, MIG Managing Director. "In the expanded MEMS Pavilion attendees will be able to plug into the MEMS community - especially in the new MEMS Lounge, which embodies a core tenet of MIG's mission - to be a neutral forum for the discussion of overcoming technical challenges to and advancement of MEMS commercialization."
"Whether you're looking to find the latest sensing solutions, evaluate emerging standards, find and compare suppliers, or solve new design challenges, we highly encourage you to make plans to attend the 2013 Sensors Expo & Conference," added Loew.
