ZB2430 ZigBee Your Way transceivers from AeroComm Inc., Lenexa, KS, offer good output power, receive sensitivity, and up to 3 miles LOS range. Based on Texas Instruments' 802.15.4 SoC and Z-Stack technology, the transceiver targets secure, low-power, mesh network applications and communicates on the 2.4 GHz ISM band. Modules are offered as either coordinators and routers or end-devices. Network scan, auto-configuration, dynamic routing, discovery, and security functions enable the mesh network. 128 KB of embedded Flash has room for larger, more-complex application profiles. The ZB2430-D is targeted at high-volume, cost-sensitive, short-range applications that require reliable battery-powered communication.
