The ETRX3 from Telegesis (UK) Ltd., Marlow, U.K., is a ZigBee-based module that features the ARM Cortex M-3-based EM357 ZigBee SoC from Ember. The 19 by 25 mm ETRX3 is available in standard and PA/LNA versions and is offered with either an onboard antenna or a Hirose U.FL connector for an external antenna. The EM357 is a fully integrated 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee transceiver based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex M-3 core. The module works from a 2.1–3.6 V supply, current consumption is 800 nA (400 nA if self-wakeup feature is not enabled), link budget is 105 dB or 123 dB for the ETRX-3PA which adds an extra LNA and PA. Onchip memory is 192 KB of Flash and 12 KB of RAM.
