The development kit for its FreeStar Pro 32-bit ARM7-based ZigBee radio module from California Eastern Laboratories (CEL), Santa Clara, CA, allows designers to eliminate external host processors typically required by 8- and 16-bit systems. The module is based on Freescale's MC13224V 802.15.4 platform-in-package and includes extensive processing capability with expansive onchip memory and extremely low power consumption. The kit includes 3 individual evaluation boards with mounted FreeStar Pro modules plus all peripheral accessories necessary to simulate a point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or mesh network. The kit also includes Freescale's BeeKit wireless connectivity software.
