Panasonic Industrial Europe GmbH, European Technology Center, Leuneburg, Germany, offers the PAN4570 low-power transceiver designed to embed ZigBee-based wireless mesh networking capabilities into products. The device uses Ember's EM250 802.15.4/ZigBee chip that combines a programmable microprocessor, RF radio, ZigBee protocol stack, and memory. The modem module is 20 by 26.5 by 3 mm, has ±98 dB sensitivity with 1% packet error rate, EmberZNet 2.0 network stack; Ember's API; an onboard low-power regulator, and 3 different power modes. Applications include industrial controls, home automation, inventory management, automatic meter reading, and environmental monitoring.
