March 13, 2011

National Instruments, Austin, TX, offers the NI 9792 programmable wireless sensor networking (WSN) gateway that can communicate with the company's WSN nodes and other hardware as well as the WSN-3226 voltage/resistance temperature detector combination WSN node. The gateway combines a LabVIEW Real-Time controller, an integrated WSN radio so that the LabVIEW Real-Time applications can run locally on the gateway to aggregate data from NI WSN devices, a 533 MHz processor, 2 GB of onboard storage, integrated Web and FTP servers, an RS-232 serial port, and dual Ethernet ports. The WSN-3226 offers 4 analog input channels configurable on a per-channel basis for ±10 V measurements or resistive measurements; 2 bidirectional digital channels configurable for input, sinking output, or sourcing output; and battery or 5–30 V operation.
