LEM S.A., Geneva, Switzerland, and Milwaukee, WI, offers its Wi-LEM family of wireless local energy meter components that let you monitor and reduce electricity consumption. The family consists of the energy meter mode (1–3 current transducers with a signal processing module), the mesh node (a repeater linking various nodes), and the mesh gate (a gateway managing the mesh network). The compact split-core transducers can be installed inside existing cabinets and can measure active, reactive, and apparent energy plus max. current and min. voltage. Nodes communicate over 2.4 GHz using ZigBee.
