Designed for industrial measurement and control, the Wireless Sensor System from Deeter Electronics Inc., Tallmadge, OH, uses a base station to receive data from remote wireless devices such as the company's LVCS-RF continuous liquid level sensor or Wireless Sender. The base station converts remote sensor input signals into industry standard process outputs and acts as the coordinator for an IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor network. It operates on one of 16 RF channels in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, provides 4 OC transistor outputs to drive external relays, and has full-duplex RS-232 and half-duplex RS-485 transceivers. Range is 1 km, depending on local conditions.
