Wireless Sensor Platform from Libelium

October 28, 2012

The Waspmote Plug & Sense! wireless sensor networking platform from Libelium, Zaragoza, Spain and Redwood City, CA, lets system integrators rapidly implement scalable, modular wireless sensor networks. Each Waspmote Plug & Sense! mote has 6 connectors to attach sensor probes and an IP65-rated enclosure; each sensor node can be programmed wirelessly using over-the-air programming. Nodes are available in 2.4 GHz and 868/900 MHz frequencies; carry CE, FCC, and IC certification; and can send information to the company's Meshlium sensor gateway that uploads data to the Cloud. The platform includes an open-source development environment and API and a GUI programming tool. Models are preconfigured for smart cities, smart parking, smart agriculture, air quality, smart security, and ambient and radiation control.
