The eZ430-Chronos from Texas Instruments (TI) Inc. , Dallas, TX, is a customizable wireless networking development environment within a sports watch. The kit lets developers experiment with the CC430 microcontroller and provides all the hardware and software needed to begin developing wireless networking applications, regardless of programming expertise. The watch is equipped with sensors for measurement and motion-based control and can serve as a central hub for nearby wireless sensors so that users have remote access to real-time data from devices such as pedometers and heart-rate monitors. It is available in 915, 868, and 433 MHz frequency bands.
