The OrderOne Embedded network architecture from OrderOne Networks Ltd., Toronto, ON, Canada, networks large numbers of wireless embedded devices for applications such as utility metering and monitoring, sensor networks, surveillance/security networks, and industrial monitoring. The architecture supports large-scale deployments with millions of devices; has a modular design; uses Diffie-Hellman key exchange, SHA1, and AES128 encryption; has very low bandwidth overheads; <1 MB for the executable; does not require use of a DHCP server; offers low CPU usage; and enables distributed updates similar to distributed bit torrent. A cost-free evaluation license is available, which includes technical support for testing and application customization.
