The RAELink3 from RAE Systems Inc., San Jose, CA, is a wireless modem for integrating the company's portable instruments into its AreaRAE toxic gas and radiation detection networks. Monitors and third-party products linked with a RAELink3 modem can communicate sensor data and GPS coordinates to a command center's PC, located up to 2 miles away, running ProRAE remote software. Bluetooth connectivity simplifies use with handheld monitors. Applications include first responders, confined space entry, industrial incident response, public venue protection, industrial survey and safety, and perimeter monitoring.
