Zlinx Xtreme IP67-rated radio modems and I/O modules from B&B Electronics Mfg. Co. Inc., Ottawa, IL, are available in 900 MHz (long-range) and 2.4 GHz (short-range) versions for wireless communication of serial or sensor data in harsh and remote environments. The I/O modules provide 2 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs, 2 digital inputs, and 2 relay outputs and feature selectable 0–5 V, 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, or 4–20 mA analog I/O and pnp or npn digital I/O. Point-to-point/peer-to-peer (P2P) or Modbus configurations are available. The serial radio modems offer 256-bit AES encrypted radios and can act as Modbus gateways when used with Xtreme I/O modules for P2P or point-to-multipoint/peer-to-multi-peer (P2MP) connectivity. Devices are tested to EN61000-6-2 and operate from –40°C to 74°C.
